As you know this blog is on music and here we are talking about making the whole world listen to music and be happy. But is it possible to even listen to music peacefully in today’s world?? Ok, let’s assume a very nice guy like you, came back from work after having a long day, sat up on his terrace to listen to music enjoying the breeze. …and all of a sudden a missile strikes next to him and the person itself is no more, forget about him listening to music!! That’s the reality; we live in a world of constant threats and
uncertainty of life. …so what’s the reason behind this constant terror?

Let me go a bit deeper into this matter. There have been hundreds of wars/genocides/mass killings throughout the history of mankind and humans have killed millions of fellow human beings, the reasons being conflicts over territory, resources, religious hatred, and politics. They have been between not only different ethnic groups, different religious groups, and different political parties but even with the same ethnicities and same religions. …Here, needless to say that wars cause long-lasting damage to ecosystems and wildlife too; explosions, bombings, and other military activities destroy forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats, disrupting the ecosystems around the area.
While writing this post (Oct 2024), two major wars are going on in the world 1) Russia-Ukrain and 2) Isarael-Palestine, Iran, and Lebanon. And already hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives. The world is also fearing the probable use of nuclear weapons; if that happens, then one more horrific genocide …then another one ..then another one …and then comes the final one, Supernova!
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), which tracks global military expenditures, worldwide military spending reached an all-time high of $2.24 trillion in 2023, and it keeps increasing every year due to the growing geopolitical tensions and arms races around the world. This astronomical amount of resources the countries of the world invest in researching and developing new destructive systems and technologies, and what do they get out of that? ..Death machines! to fight and kill other human beings! Rather than spending trillions on weapon development, we can invest in education, healthcare, agriculture research, food security, disease eradication, and sustainable economic growth. We, humans, developed the humanoids with AI that can even detect cancer; then what can’t we do if we put our hearts in?
No one can deny the fact that the human race came from the same small group of people created by our Father whom we all call “God”. Whatever we are be it Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Taoist, or follower of any other religion or philosophy we have the same father and that makes us all brothers and sisters. Then how can we fight with each other? Should rather take care of each other. The day we will feel this affection of brotherhood among fellow beings, all the problems of the world will automatically be wiped out!… And this is the only way to end wars/genocides/mass killings, there is absolutely no other way out!
“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (Sanskrit: वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्) it’s a Sanskrit phrase from Hinduism scripture which translates to “The earth is one family”. We must work on this philosophy to restore peace, prosperity, and happiness all over the world. ..Brothers, we are going to colonize Mars soon. Can’t we make colonies on our mother earth safe and happy? Yes, We Can! Yes, We Can! Yes, We Can!

Listen to this beautiful song on Brotherhood by one of my favorite bands, Dire Straits. The name of the song is “Brothers in Arms” and It conveys that we are brothers, and if we make wars with each other then we are nothing but fools!!
Peace!! ☮︎
